About Me
Hi, I’m Lorna.
Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling, Canadian Professional Counsellors Association | IBP Certified Allied Professional, | The Rosenberg System of Integrative Body Psychotherapy (3-year training)
I know what it feels like not to be seen or heard. I grew up that way, and I know firsthand how much it hurts. It wasn’t until my 40s, through university, therapy, and years of my own inner work, that I experienced what it means to be truly seen. My professor, Dr. Gerry Fewster, gave me that gift, and it changed my life. It also lit a lifelong passion to offer others that same experience.
My path to this work has been a varied one, spanning over twenty years in the helping field. I raised two children, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care from Malaspina University-College (now Vancouver Island University) with a specialization in child protection, completed extensive training in Integrative Body Psychotherapy to become an IBP Certified Allied Professional, ran a non-profit organization, and worked with high-risk youth for over sixteen years. Today, I am a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and a registered counsellor with BC’s Crime Victim Assistance Program, supporting people as they heal from the impact of crime and trauma.
In our sessions, I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can slow down, breathe, and notice what your body is telling you. Together we explore what’s getting in the way of feeling at home in yourself, in your body, your relationships, and the life you’re living right now. My approach is gentle, grounded, and paced to you.
I’m also a grandmother to two of the sweetest little humans on the planet and a devoted gardener. I’ve done this work myself, through all the twists, turns, and recalibrations, and I’d be honoured to walk alongside you in yours.
